The Book of Philippians
As we become REFRESHED on September 13th, we will be reading from the Book of Philippians. Read along with us and answer the Bible Study questions below!
1. How could Paul have a heart filled with joy (Philippians 1:4) even though he was imprisoned in Rome? How did Paul’s imprisonment help him to spread the Gospel? What lessons can we draw from the example of Paul’s joyfulness while imprisoned in Rome?
2. Why does Paul stress the attitudes of unity and humility in the church? Why do you think that it is so difficult for Christians to maintain these attitudes? What happened as a result of Christ’s humility?
3. In verses Philippians 3:5-6, Paul cites the credentials that made him an authentic Jew. Why did Paul describe these credentials as “loss” (Philippians 3:7)? That is, what point was he making? What does Paul say that he focuses on in Philippians 13-14? Why does he focus on this?
4. Why does Paul tell us not to worry about anything, but to pray about everything in Philippians 4:6? How does praying help us to experience God’s peace? What are some things that we can think about to combat the tendency toward worry (Philippians 4:8)?
Restoration is coming Revival is coming! Times of REFRESHING are coming! Can you see it on the horizon?
